It’s small in the scheme of things, but a big upgrade for the site. I’ve migrated (not without pain, but that’s for another post) from the old G5 single core box running Leopard Server 10.5.8, to a new dual core Intel box, running Snow Leopard Server (10.6.1.) I’ve been looking for software to allow me to post to my blog without using the (cumbersome) web admin interface. My goal, more specifically, is “free” software to accomplish this task. The photo gallery pages were taken off-line after problems were discovered. A total rebuild is in order, and will be returning bigger and better in the future. After never being able to upgrade WordPress in any sort of automatic, or painless, way, I’ve finally stumbled upon a configuration that seems to work. In the end, it’s all a matter of ownership and permissions, at least in my case. On my quest to figure out SEO, Search Engine Optimization. I still don’t understand (well, maybe I’m starting to) why my site doesn’t show in Google. Still playing with WordPress, the blog in general, and the server. Still have so much to learn. Someday, maybe, just maybe I will figure it out, but I doubt it. So I wasted enough time (again) this morning. The sun is shining bright, and the grass didn’t stop growing. If anything, it’s shooting up with the recent rain, and all this sun. I don’t know where Saturday went… Well, I do, really. Spent all day updating to the newest (stable) release of WordPress. Version 2.8 can be found here. |
