But the amazing thing, after purchased the tickets for the Friday, November 13 concert, I received an email from The Breeze, KNIK 88.7 FM in Anchorage.  It was from the program director informing me I had won a pair of tickets to the event.  That was great, but since I already had tickets, I asked a guy at work if he would want them.  He wasn't familiar with Jeff Golub and Rick Braun who headlined the show, but he would ask his wife.  If she didn't want to go, he was sure one of his daughters would like to attend.]]></description> <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>That would have been unfortunate, since it was a wonderful night of some good jazz.  Guess I got wrapped up in the New Moon event and almost overlooked what preceded the trip to LA.</p><p>Somewhere a few days before the concert, I stumbled upon the announcement.  It almost seems like it was a spur of the moment affair, and didn&#8217;t have much advance publicity for some reason.  But once I saw it, went straight to <a
title="CenterTix" href="http://www.myalaskacenter.com/comingevents/default.asp" target="_blank">CenterTix</a> to see if anything was available.  I was surprised, with the concert only a few days away, that it wasn&#8217;t sold out.</p><p>I snagged a couple of tickets in the front row! Gave him the tickets and off we go.</p><p>The concert was a benefit to raise money for Bye-Bye Bullies.  It was a great show at the Atwood Concert Hall.  This time, to me, was a better show, and more intimate than the last time Jeff Golub was in town.
