Guess it doesn’t matter what anybody thinks now… Sarah Palin has resigned as Governor. I can’t think this will help any national aspirations, who wants a quitter. In any event, no one knows; probably not even her. Time will tell… One thing is sure, she certainly polarized the population.

We will now see what is in store with the new Governor, as Sean Parnell assumes office.

Here is Sarah Palin’s farewell speech (in two parts)

A few of my thoughts on Sarah Palin's announcement of her resignation as governor of the Great State of Alaska. It came as quite a surprise, to say the least. I wonder what is in store...?

It actually came as quite a surprise to me (and it appears others as well.) I found out this morning when my iPhone made a strange beep. When I looked, my AP app had notified me of the announcement.

I looked around on the net, stopping first at ADN.com (the Daily Snooze). The first post didn’t have any information, other than Palin was announcing her resignation from office. I guess she will remain in office a couple more weeks, and then step down.

Ok, I didn’t think to turn on the TV. I’m sure CNN, Fox, and all the others were carrying it all day. But I checked back with the Daily Snooze, and found updated information. Tonight they had updated the story further.

Now, I don’t follow these things (or “news” in general) and so form my own “opinions”. Maybe I watch too many movies.

Here’s how it plays out… Sarah is resigning. What could be the catalyst for such a sudden announcement? Hmmm…?

Ok, someone (person or persons unknown) have “dirt” on the Gov. The two parties negotiated. Sarah, in order to keep this “dirt” private will step down. Otherwise, of course, the person or persons unknown, will come forth and bring her down.

The second nefarious scenario is similar. Sarah is contacted. Sarah is told she is “found out.” Harm will come (in some fashion) to her or her family. She steps down, *before* they spill the beans. That was nice of them to give her the chance to vacate public office and run away before the new is released.

I suppose she could be stepping down to prepare for some national ambitions. But, who wants a quitter? That doesn’t make sense to me, so must be one of the first two theories above.

Time will tell…
