/> Anchorage is small market. In late August, KNIK announced a change in programming. This was attributed to the down turn in the economy, and the need for ad revenue. That is a valid argument, until you look at the market.

KNIK, The Breeze, was the only jazz station in Anchorage. The decided to abandon this format, and go with the same old pop / light rock as almost every other station. I will admit, 105.7 disappeared from my radio presets. Not only can I get that programming “somewhere else” but with a better signal.

I actually went to the Tati site, and sent a ‘complaint.’ I usually don’t care, and don’t say anything. But for some reason, I decided to “say something” and left my email address. Apparently a few other people did the same.

On Sunday, September 27 I got an email… Huh… Anyway, it stated that jazz is back in Anchorage! <img

KNIK moved from 105.7 to 87.7. 105.7 is now KNLT. Smooth jazz followed KNIK to a new transmitter. Reception is so much better here along the lower Hillside, plus in the car.

Their main page says that you can listen on your iPhone. But, maybe in time. They were supported with Radiolicious on the iPhone. However, that stream is still pointed to 105.7 (which now doesn’t exist.) The “new” <a
