Cradlepoint PHS300 – Battery improvementI’ve been using the “new” (replacement) router a couple of days. Each time, I was using AC power. Today, I did the first test of the new router on battery power. From initial power on, until the device shut off, it was a full two hours and forty minutes! Wow, the original device only got up to 2:20 or so, after I had cycled the battery three times. Impressive performance. I looked to see if anything was different, but the router is set to broadcast at “medium” power, just as was the first one. Maybe there really was something defective with the first one from the beginning. Time will tell, and I will report further as I continue to use the PHS300. 1 comment to Cradlepoint PHS300 – Battery improvement | ||||||

The performance continues… The past few days I’ve kept track of usage, completely cycling the battery. After this last time, I won’t continue to “abuse” it and only occasionally let it “die”.
Anyway, here are the recent runtimes:
In all cases, even with the “reduced” time on Tuesday, this router performs better than the first. Still very pleased, not only with the device in general, but the battery run time for portable operation.
Throughput performance is great as well. This test was performed while on battery power, with a -81dBm RSSI.
