Another sunny day in Anchorage
This weather has been phenomenal! Since moving here in 1996, I can’t remember a summer such as this one. I don’t want to jinx something, but other than the past few rainy summers, the ones I remember from the past were nothing like what we are experiencing. Last year, we say the sun a couple of times, but otherwise it was cloudy, cool, and rainy. I think it set a record for only a couple of days about 70F / 21C. This year, I can even begin to count the days. Sunshine and in the 70′s and 80′s most every day now. I remember when I first moved here, I enjoyed the time around late April and through May; clear blue skies and sunshine. June was ok, but then it seemed as though the Fourth of July was a turning point. It was the start of the rainy season. Once again, in the fall before the snow arrived, was another brief Indian summer respite. This year, the sun is still shining. The forecast for the next few days (thanks to the Ambient device) is for sun and then mostly sunny. Right now, the message is “Clearing and pleasant…” I have to agree. | ||||||
